This is Muhammad if you decide that it is

Just a quick post on this.

If you personally follow some religious taboo that harms no one, I don’t have a problem with that.

If you personally think that it would be a good idea if everyone followed that taboo, I don’t have a problem with that, either.

If you request that other people respect that taboo in your own home, and in your church/mosque/synagogue, that’s a reasonable request.

But if you think that it’s OK to threaten people with violence if they don’t follow your taboo in their own spaces and their own private lives, I have a huge problem with that.  And if you think that because one religion threatens violence we need to tiptoe around their issues and not speak out against their bad ideas, I have a problem with that too.

Religious ideas need to be questioned.  And religious ideas that are so weak that they cannot stand on their own, without threats, are some of the most important ideas to question.

The thing is, the millah (community of believers) does not care whether we have a problem with their propensity for violence. They are committed to lay their lives down for their god and will have no problem laying ours down alongside them. This is what we’re up against in the West and only the West’s military power is what keeps Islamic State from having the potential to rule much of the world.

Unfortunately, the questioning of ideas isn’t enough here. We’re involved in a question of killing: We kill them first, before they get strong and kill us. We do this even though we are aware of the western Left’s warning that this pollutes our own morals and sinks us to their level. Yes, it could, but it’s not inevitable. The thing is, ISIS just doesn’t understand any other language.

I feel soooo offended! How could that be mistaken for anyone other than the blessed prophet Muhammad (PBUH)?
